Wall Heaters For Your Room
If I were to write about home heaters a few years ago, I would probably start naming those countries or parts of the world where people don’t need heaters at all.
But today because of these global weather changes that are continuously taking place I can hardly imagine a house where there isn’t at least one home heater.
Home heaters fall mainly in two groups–electric heaters and gas heaters. You can use either of them for heating your house. The only disadvantage of gas heaters is that they can give off exhaust, which is a bit risky. Whereas electric heaters leave no pollutants.
There are several types of electric heaters–column, convection, fan, radiant and wall heaters. But I want to focus on electric wall heaters, which are relatively new but quite effective.
An electric wall heater is moveable heating unit which is usually attached to the wall. It has a compact design and doesn’t take up much space, which is the reason why it’s getting more and more popular. Electric wall heaters don’t heat the whole house. Their “mission” is to heat the exact room where it will be installed.
How does it work? An electric wall heater has a resistor that turns electric energy into heat and spreads the heat all over the room.
I remember when my father bought an electric wall heater for our dining room, my mother was very dissatisfied with it. She didn’t believe that such a small heater would be able to provide heat for the whole room. Within an hour the room was fully heated and my mother had to make a cake to raise my father’s mood.
Anyway, like any other home heater, wall heaters have their advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages are:
- Heat a single room and save you money
- Have a low cost
- Easy to install
- Don’t take up much space
When thinking about the disadvantages there is only one that comes to mind–the use of electricity. As you already know, they consume a lot of electricity, which is quite expensive nowadays.
To sum up, I should say that an electric wall heater is a perfect way of heating, but it works well only for single rooms. So, don’t buy one if you intend to heat the whole house.
