Cleaning A Bamboo Rug
A bamboo rug is something new in floor covering options and many people prefer having one instead of a wool rug. They are mostly valued for being durable. I myself bought a bamboo rug for that reason.
Bamboo is a material that requires proper care. It is a kind of tree and you should avoid using any type of household cleaners with water. Water damages wood. There are some steps that should be followed for keeping your bamboo rug clean:
- Vacuum it from different directions, passing over the same area again and again. Vacuuming will help you always keep the rug clean.
- Remove soiled areas. Take a clean cloth and wipe the affected area, until the spot disappears.
- Keep your bamboo rug away from direct sunlight.
- Place the rug away from dry places and sources of water. Don’t let your rug get wet. If it does become wet, dry it thoroughly and then hang it in the sun until it completely becomes dry.
- If it becomes wet, don’t use it and let it dry. You can spoil the bamboo and it won’t be usable.
- Try to clean it with cleaners that contain oil. This will protect your bamboo rug and give it a shiny look.
