No Blank Walls In Your Home

No Blank Walls In Your HomeYour interior should always be welcoming. It doesn’t matter whether you spend a lot of time inside or out, what really matters is that you definitely want your house to “greet you warmly” when you come back after work, sit on the couch  and watch TV.

The first enemy of the home atmosphere is the blank walls all over your house. No matter what color the walls in your house are, even if they have black wallpaper, the house looks empty and dull without any decorations.

If you are having a hard time with choosing the decorations, here are a few ideas that you might like.

To begin with, you can choose paintings, shelves or hanging souvenirs and they will all look great on the walls.

One of my friends got a Persian-style fabric, cut them in pieces and put them in frames of different sizes. All the frames should be hung at a distance of two inches from each other. But you should keep in mind that the pattern should not get mixed. This way they’ll look like having been broken into pieces.

If you have a staircase, you can put up pictures, lamps or souvenirs along it, which will also look very nice. If you have a lot of family portraits, you can start with the really old ones at the bottom of the staircase and finish with the newest family pictures at the top.

Some of my friends who have pretty modern and abstract home interiors have framed color palettes instead of pictures. You can also start with, for example, a red colored palette at one end of the wall and have several other frames that go towards the other end where it gradually becomes orange or yellow. You can do this all by yourself. Paint thick paper with watercolors or oil-based paint.

If you are thinking of decorating your bedroom or kitchen walls, you can include some personal things into the decorations. For instance, find all the cards that people have sent you and arrange them on the wall so they form a heart, a sun or whatever strikes your imagination.

I hope you like these ideas and will find time to experiment with them.
