Green Your Home Interior
While designing a home and considering home interior ideas, you usually take into account everything — furniture, appliances, security, lighting and flooring. But is that really all you should consider?
The idea of being surrounded by aesthetically pleasing objects makes us forget about the magic things which can really enhance our lives. Don’t you think that a carefully chosen plant will make your home decorating design more pleasing and relaxing than those unnatural and eye-catching accessories that many prefer?
According to Feng Shui, home interior decoration can’t do without potted plants at home, since they evoke the most touching human feelings. I value this 5000-year-old Chinese practice because it logically and thoroughly explains every single detail.
Below are some of my plant-using tips that you can take into consideration because they carry the philosophy of directing energy and bringing harmony to your home.
Make the entrance welcoming — Hang or place a potted plant near the front door. It’s the very place where air plays freely and energy enters your home, so placing a plant near your entrance will make your home’s atmosphere more positive. It is now very popular. Take any home design catalog and you’ll see that the home entrance is usually decorated with an elegant houseplant.-
Avoid thorny plants — Don’t place thorny plants like a cactus indoors, especially near the entrance, as they can damage your home’s harmonic chi. Put them outdoors near the home or on the window sill, because it symbolizes protection and protects your home from negative forces.
Don’t keep dry or cut flowers at home — they have nothing to do with your home decor design. Dry plants and even cut flowers have bad chi according to Feng Shui, because the life force that once flowed in them has gone and it’ll bring no good to keep things that represent death. Always replace a dying plant with a new one to regain the energy.
Disguise slanted walls: Hanging a potted plant on a slanted wall will soften the drama that these walls usually create. Green represents hope and new life, whereas slanted walls represent “obstacles.” So a slanted wall will lose its meaning if you hang a plant on it. However, placing, for example, a tall ficus in a corner to soften sharp lines will help energy flow through the room.
Choose scented plants – Sweet-smelling flowers and herbs will add warmth, passion and color to a cold, dull place.
So consider these tips and green your home interior, because houseplants are a great way to encourage a good chi to enter your house and to balance the energy inside.
