A Real Summer Apartment

A Real Summer ApartmentSummer can be so different–hot, cool, fun, torturing, full of impressions. But one thing is for sure — we never get enough of it.

So what can you do to have a little bit of summer in your home too? Change the design of your apartment!

Here are some hints for making your apartment look as sunny as summer itself to create a cozy hiding place from the heat.

  • Good day, sunshine! Yellow and orange — these are the colors if you love summer to the core. Use furniture and paintings of round and oval shapes and warm colors. If the rooms are on the sunny side and you want to balance the colors, leave the sunny walls white and paint the opposite side wall or walls yellow or orange. This will help you to avoid the eye-striking brightness.
  • In coolness. Are you tired of the everlasting heat? Create an apartment design which will allow you to feel more comfortable and cool at home. In this case, of course, avoid warm colors — stick to white, silver and blue. Pick heavy curtains which will block the sun rays from coming inside the rooms and will keep the apartment cool. Use the shades created by the sun for your benefit. Avoid warm materials on the furniture. Plus, the only electronic device that should be switched on in your room is the air conditioner.
  • Can’t decide which one you prefer? Then choose something that will be a compromise — a beach design. It is of course made with a combination of beige, blue and green colors. These colors are actually cold but adding some details, by recalling a beach vacation, will make you feel the sun right in your apartment. An interesting decision for this kind of design will be hanging fishing nets on the ceiling, putting sea stars or shells around the room and placing a lot of  floor vases filled with clear or blue-colored water all over. Remember that a blue carpet is a must.

Whichever idea you pick, it will make your apartment look fresh, comfortable and summer-like all day and all year long.
