I wonder if there is anyone who is indifferent to paper lanterns?
Paper lanterns are useful, beautiful and trendy accessories. They enjoy a large popularity especially in China. In fact it’s hard to imagine a single Chinese celebration without them.
Annually the Chinese hold the Lantern Festival, which is also called the Yuan Xiao Festival or is alternatively referred to as Little New Year. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month. On this day families gather at night under the full moon to enjoy decorative lanterns.
According to Wikipedia, 5 distinct classes of paper lanterns are singled out in China: the Baby’s Bottom, Rolling Paper, Tomato light, Crystal Magic and Buddha’s Gastronomy.
Paper lanterns are available in any shape, size, color and model. Choose from square, oval, rectangular, cuff, beehive, accordion, round and capsule shaped paper lanterns.
You can use a paper lantern to decorate your home for Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries. And in case you are planning a summer party on your patio, paper lanterns can be the way to go. It would also be a genial idea to have a garden party stringing ribbons and paper lanterns from the trees.
By the way, you can even make a paper lantern on your own. You only need scissors, colored paper, glue and a ruler.
